Why is your name Done Purple? It doesn’t make sense.
Done Purple’s owner, Margaret, is passionate about purple. It’s a color of creativity, spirituality, nobility and magic. When combined with the word “Done” to us it means we do our work creatively, with the spirit of adding only good things to our world, and we strive to ensure that our work brings success to our clients and surpasses their expectations.
Where is Done Purple based?
We are a virtual company enjoying the freedom to bring in team members from anywhere we find talent. The owner, Margaret Pickard, works from her home in Ohio, and the business is a registered LLC with the state of Ohio and has a Dun & Bradstreet number.
What is your web design & development process like?
We devoted a whole page to this process as we have found it to be very successful. But let us state here: we are committed to working with clients in ways that meet their needs. Not everyone has time to go through the whole process of discovery, wireframes and mockups. When projects are urgent, we find ways to compress the timeline and get it Done! Purple!
How much does a website cost?
Most websites start at $2,500 and up. It depends so much on the complexity of the site you need, how many pages, whether ecommerce is required and how fast you need it done. We will be happy to discuss your needs with you and give you an accurate quote for your project. And, if $2,500 is more than you were thinking you could spend, we have a network of trusted colleagues who we can refer you to.
Does Done Purple do SEO?
SEO is a very complicated process and is not currently part of our offerings simply because we do not have a dedicated SEO professional on our team. It is not a part-time job. We do know enough about it to be sure we build your site so it can pass a technical SEO audit, if that’s important to you. We can also help you optimize the content for keywords that you want to try and rank for. If you’re planning a WordPress site, we recommend the Yoast plugin and can set it up for you.
Do you do other digital marketing besides websites?
We have a lot of experience with email marketing and are happy to help you with that if you need. We can also do video editing to get your videos ready for wherever you want to post them, and can help you with designs for your various social media channels. However we do not do social media marketing, nor Google Adwords or manage any other types of digital marketing. It’s just not in our wheelhouse at this time.
Can you do a WordPress website?
Yes! We specialize in WordPress actually, it’s our favorite CMS (Content Management System). We can build a theme from scratch for you or if you prefer a framework where you can do front-end editing, we can use a page builder. We don’t recommend that, as it will slow down your site somewhat, but we understand not everyone is comfortable in the back-end of WordPress.
We are passionate about security with WordPress websites, as we have too-often been hired to un-hack a few of them. We know how to secure your site using a variety of methods. We can also build custom WordPress plugins if you require, and help you find good managed WordPress hosting.
Can you build old-fashioned HTML sites too?
You bet! And, it’s one of our favorite things to do too. WordPress is great but you get stuck with a lot of its overhead. A nice, simple static website will load very fast on slow and fast internet connections, and we find a lot of freedom in being able to build a page exactly how we want without having to integrate a content platform.
Can you take over managing/fixing my existing website?
We certainly can! We have experience working with webmasters who are on their way out so there’s a peaceful transfer of power so-to-speak. We also have experience with clients whose webmaster disappeared on them, and we are able to regain access to their hosting, domain registrations and website. Once we have established control over your website, we will be able to better give you some idea of what needs to be fixed or how we can improve on what’s existing. Rarely do we need to start over from scratch – but if that happens we can do that too!
Can you build an ecommerce site?
Yes! We are experienced in building sites with Woocommerce, Shopify, Squarespace, or a variety of open source platforms like Zencart and Opencart.
How do I get a quote for a project?

Can you un-hack my site?
Yep, sure can. Fill out the contact form and I’ll get to work on it ASAP. Then I’ll help you set up better security so it doesn’t happen again!
Do you do any print design work?
We do! We have decades of experience in designing catalogs, brochures, flyers, business cards, logos, direct mailers, and more. We even designed a truck wrap once, which was really fun!
Can you create a MailChimp template for me?
Yes, we can. We are listed in Mailchimp’s Agency Directory so all you have to do is invite us to your account.
